Smith & Nephew‘s Endoscopy Division announced the launch of the FOOTPRINT PK Suture Anchor, a system used to attach rotator cuff tissue to bone in the shoulder. The system delivers a Transosseous Equivalent (TOE) repair without the need for drilling transosseous bone tunnels.

Orthopaedic specialist Smith & Nephew PLC said its Advanced Wound Management unit is launching its negative pressure wound therapy products. The company said the global market for such products is the fastest growing segment of the wound care market and is estimated to be worth $1.6 billion in 2008.
